Nordic Association for Computational Mechanics (NoACM) represents the interest for the Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and the Baltic countries: Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in the European Community on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences (ECCOMAS) and the International Association for Computational Mechanics (IACM). NoACM was founded in 1988.
The objective of the NoACM shall be to stimulate and promote research and practice in computational mechanics, to foster the interchange of ideas among the various fields contributing to computational mechanics and to provide forums and meetings for dissemination of knowledge about computational mechanics.
We are very pleased that ECCOMAS has selected Oslo as the venue for its 7th ECCM conference. The conference organising committee has been working very hard both to secure the conference, and then even harder to put in place an outstanding programme of academic and social events which play to the strengths of Oslo and Norway. I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Chairman of the Nordic Association for Computational Mechanics (NOACM)
Welcome
We are pleased to inform you that more than 2000 abstracts have been accepted for oral presentation at the 8th European Congress on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences and Engineering (ECCOMAS Congress 2022) to be held in Oslo, Norway, on 5th - 9th of June, 2022.
The ECCOMAS Congress 2022 follows on from successful previous congresses in Brussels (1992), Paris (1996), Barcelona (2000), Jyväskylä (2004), Venice (2008), Vienna (2012), Crete (2016), and Paris (2020, online). This year’s congress is hosted by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), together with SINTEF and the Nordic Association for Computational Mechanics in Engineering (NOACM).
The local organizing committee believes that in-person events are the best way to communicate science and further expand personal connections around the world, in particular for young researchers.
Therefore, the ECCOMAS Congress 2022 is planned as a fully in-person event at the congress venue NOVA Spektrum in Lillestrøm, close to Oslo.
The Norwegian Government has now removed all regulatory measures against COVID-19, including any entry restrictions from abroad. For more information regarding transit through EU and Schengen area countries, we refer you to the website Re-Open EU. Please be aware that if international travel restrictions are imposed because of Covid-19 or other reaons, the congress may be changed to a fully virtual event at short notice.
We look forward to welcoming you to Oslo on 5th - 9th of June 2022.
Trond Kvamsdal, Kjell Magne Mathisen, Knut-Andreas Lie, and Mats G. Larson
